The Cahaba Academy of Photography & Art

The Cahaba Academy of Photography & Art was designed to meet the needs of the "budding" artist inside of us all. We accept students from grades 3-12 for this highly challenging curriculum of either digital photography or art. Our school also offers adult classes for those individuals who want to learn enhance their digital photography skills. Students of all age groups develop portfolios based on diverse skills, cohesion, and quality.

The instructor, Lynn Schmidt, is a highly qualified, certified K-12 art educator who has taught since 1980. She is a currently practicing artist who displays work in many shows, competitions, and brochures. She holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in Art Education specializing in drawing/painting and photography. In just the last year, her students won over 150 awards in photography at the regional & state levels. She is a member of NAEA, AAEA, and NAPP and currently sits on the Board of the AAEA as Technology Chairman.
